🎓 Education
Four Minot State University students serve as community service officers with the police department through a two-year apprenticeship that began last August.
The program eases officer workload + builds a pipeline for future hires and will run through this summer and the next university term.
North Dakota Parks and Rec will host a fly and tie workshop at Lake Metigoshe State Park on June 20 and 21 for beginners.
Registration costs $125 and covers all materials, and those aged 12 and 13 may attend (with an adult).
🏛️ Government
Minot Air Force Base will undergo $5 billion in construction over the next 10 years, covering both base upgrades and missile field improvements.
Lt. Col. Khary Davis said the projects will ready installations for the new Sentinel and LRSO missiles and boost local technical hiring.
At Minot Air Force Base, the 91st Missile Maintenance Squadron’s Electro-Mechanical Team maintained power and security systems for the Minuteman III missile system on a chilly April morning.
The team worked through freezing weather and routine remove-and-replace procedures to keep the base ready.
