North Dakota’s last known Rosie the Riveter was honored by Congress on Saturday during a ceremony for her 100th birthday.
On Friday, Apr. 10, at the National Civics Bee in Minot, eighth grader Chilaka Ugobi won and nine top students advanced to state competition in Bismarck later this year; participants from Our Redeemer’s, Erik Ramstad, Central, and Bishop Ryan schools showcased strong civic skills (paving their academic journey).
At the April 10 meeting, Minot Public Schools reported significant test score gains as Jim Hill Principal Mike Arlien outlined improvements in reading and math rankings, with Erik Ramstad and Jim Hill Middle Schools now in the top 10.
The data confirmed strong classroom performance and enhanced proficiency.
Ward County 4‑H archers competed in the McKenzie County 4‑H Indoor Archery match on March 14 in Watford City.
Sixteen youth competed in multiple divisions & the Junior Freestyle team of Quade Everson, Tabitha Hauge, Hadley Yoder and Tyson Yoder finished first with a score of 432.
Ward County 4-H archers competed in the Morton County Indoor Archery match on March 21 in Bismarck.
Thirty youths from Minot (and surrounding areas) participated in age and bow divisions, with teams posting strong scores in the Senior and Junior events.
