- ➤ Minot resident Cory Long won the Good Neighbor Award on Monday, Apr. 6. He was chosen from 10 nominations for his work with local groups (including the Minot Shrine Club and Downtown Business Association). KFYR-TV
- ➤ Marge Heinzen turned 103 in Garrison on Sunday and celebrated with a special performance by local musician Daniel Starks, who has performed for her for nine years. Her birthday tradition reflects a cherished local heritage. KFYR-TV
- ➤ The Minot Area Chamber EDC and Women Connect program will hold an Opportunity Showcase on Wednesday, Apr. 8 at the Minot Area Workforce Academy from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The event will help women and community members connect with local organizations through networking and panel discussions. - ➤ In summer 1889, 81 delegates gathered in Bismarck to debate issues and write a state constitution that enabled North Dakota to join the Union on Nov. 2. Today, the ND250 Commission is hosting events throughout 2026 to honor this legacy and boost civic participation. Minot Daily News

- ➤ The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has allocated more than $9 million to improve housing and living environments in North Dakota — Minot will receive nearly $300,000 for housing improvements. The funds will help cities like Fargo, Grand Forks, and Bismarck provide better living conditions. KFYR-TV
