Minot Vet Center and Disabled American Veterans hosted an event on Monday, March 29 to honor Vietnam veterans with free meals — donated by Homesteaders — and keynote speakers.

Organizers said the gathering recognized the sacrifices of veterans returning home.

Roosevelt Park Zoo in Minot will host Easter at the Zoo on Saturday, April 4 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.—the event features crafts, a visit with the Easter bunny, a photo station and candy goody bags for each child as supplies last.

The earliest surviving issue from the Minot Journal from February 2, 1894 remains in the North Dakota State Historical Society archives — revealing details about local school enrollment, illness outbreaks, and a social event at the Foot Building on east Main Street.

Local and area students who earned top spots in Division B, grades 6-9, and Division C, grades 9-12, at the Minot Regional Science Olympiad on March 9 are set to compete in the state science competition in Fargo on April 25-26.

The ND Department of Environmental Quality is inviting public comments on a draft air permit for T&C Inc. (Fiberglass Specialties at 7600 Highway E. in Minot), with a 30-day period from April 3-May 2 and a 45-day EPA review ending June 16.

Minot High split its season opener with the Magicians on Saturday, March 28, winning the first game 9-3 at Corbett Field but losing the second 18-7 after a 15-run third inning.

The Magicians returned to action Monday, March 30 in a doubleheader against Bismarck Legacy at Corbett Field.
