COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Western ND Honor Flight has been named as the 2026 grand marshal and will lead the state parade in Minot on July 18 at 9:15 a.m. The group (which has flown over 1,000 veterans to Washington, D.C.) is honored for its service.  KFYR-TV

CULTURE NEWS

  • ND State Fair has announced its final entertainers for the grandstand lineup. Zedd will perform an EDM show on Friday, July 24, and the Turn Up ND! show with hip-hop artists TI, Da-Baby and Waka Flocka Flame will cap the event on Saturday, July 25.  KFYR-TV

ECONOMY NEWS

  • AARP's new report said one in 10 North Dakotans care for a loved one, with 82,000 people providing 58 million hours of unpaid care worth over $1.27 billion, and advises caregivers to seek help (from local services) to ease their workload.  KFYR-TV

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The ND GOP Convention is underway in Minot from today through Sunday, March 29. Updates on sessions and speaker remarks will be provided throughout the event + keeping locals informed.  KFYR-TV
  • On Feb. 5, airmen from the 5th Maintenance Squadron at Minot Air Force Base practiced nondestructive inspection procedures, using X‑rays + ultrasonic tests to spot equipment faults before they became hazards.  Minot Daily News

HEALTH NEWS

  • The ND Department of Health and Human Services reported decreased influenza and COVID-19 cases for the week ending March 25 — RSV cases increased to 216 with influenza at 574 and COVID-19 at 75 statewide. All figures are preliminary and subject to revision.  Minot Daily News

SPORTS NEWS

  • Minot’s Leelee Bell won the 42nd Miss Basketball Award & West Fargo Horace’s Carter Evanson earned Mr. Basketball during a ceremony announced Friday by the North Dakota AP Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association. Bell will join the University of Oklahoma while Evanson will play at UND next year.  KFYR-TV
  • Baker High School Girls’ Basketball finished an undefeated season with a state championship win — their second title in three years. Coach Shumaker praised the team’s spirit and set an optimistic tone for next season as returning players fill key roles.  KFYR-TV
