COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ Town and Country Credit Union announced a donation of $18,150 to Trinity Health Foundation, made possible by Trinity Health employees choosing it as their financial partner in 2025 (the gift includes contributions based on new accounts, hiring, and direct deposits). Minot Daily News
- ➤ The Minot Exchange Club is hosting a food and gift card drive to help TSA workers who may miss their second paycheck due to the government shutdown. The drive runs from Wednesday through April 3 with drop-offs at Marketplace Foods and Capital RV (gift cards for gas, groceries, and coffee are accepted). KFYR-TV
- ➤ Minot's city manager Tom Joyce will deliver the keynote address at the National Vietnam War Veterans Day observance Monday, March 30 at Minot Municipal Auditorium from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The free event will include a meal for the first 150 attendees and welcomes Vietnam veterans and their families. - ➤ The Brass Band of Minot will close its 2025-2026 season with a free concert at Anne Nicole Nelson Hall on Sunday, March 29 at 4 p.m. featuring the Heritage Singers plus pieces by John Williams and John Rutter. Minot Daily News
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Gas prices in the region are rising due to the war in the Middle East. AAA reports regular gas averaged $3.43 a gallon Wednesday in contrast to $3.04 a year ago & is nearing the record high of $4.80 in June 2022. KFYR-TV
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The U.S. Census Bureau released estimates today showing Minot's metro area held steady at 75,694 residents as of July 1, 2025, with Ward County gaining slightly, McHenry County losing 23, and Renville County adding 21 (per the report). Statewide, North Dakota nears 800,000 residents. Minot Daily News
- ➤ EPA issued a 20-day emergency fuel waiver for expanded nationwide E15 gasoline sales starting May 1 (with a one-month transition for distributors) to help lower gas prices, and North Dakota Rep. Julie Fedorchak said she will pursue a permanent, year-round solution. KFYR-TV
- ➤ North Dakota Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring said that current farming and industrial regulations are raising costs for local farmers and ranchers and may limit profits. He noted that easing these rules could boost competitiveness as producers work with tighter margins. KFYR-TV

- ➤ Minot native Sydnie Bahl finished the Iditarod race last week in Alaska, placing 25th out of 34 riders while completing nearly 1,000 miles amid harsh weather. She credited her improved dog team (including newer members) for boosting her confidence and performance. KFYR-TV
- ➤ Ward County shooters competed at the Ramsey County 4-H Air Rifle Invitational Match in Devils Lake on Feb. 14, where different age groups had strong showings. Local Minot competitors Zachary and Alyssa Korgel earned third and fourth place in the Master Division — a noteworthy finish for the community. Minot Daily News
