COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The F5 Project announced a monthly re-entry gathering + meal for individuals re-entering the community, with the first event scheduled for April 6 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Bread of Life Lutheran Church at 1415 17th Ave. SW. Future gatherings will occur on the first Monday of each month.  Minot Daily News

CULTURE NEWS

  • ND Historical Society Foundation launches the Military Gallery Caravan in April to visit 48 communities, including Minot on April 20 at Dakota Territory Air Museum. Director Dale Lennon will present progress on the Military Gallery addition and lead a community discussion — linking local military heritage.  Minot Daily News

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Eugene Graner of Heartland Investment Services said U.S. actions have disrupted oil flow from the Persian Gulf as the Iran-controlled Strait of Hormuz remains closed. He warned that if delays in fertilizer shipments persist, local food costs may rise, with oil prices expected to stay above the $50–60 range.  KFYR-TV

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Dakota College at Bottineau is accepting applications for its 14-month Paramedic Technology program at its new Minot campus, with classes starting June 1 and running until the following July. Applicants must be certified EMTs (with current BLS CPR) and will be interviewed if applications are submitted by April 1.  Minot Daily News

HEALTH NEWS

  • Residents moved into a new state-of-the-art skilled nursing facility at Mountrail Bethel Home in Stanley last week. The $31 million project, partly funded by a $25 million county donation, upgrades resident rooms, the salon, and CNA work areas as part of a decade-long expansion of the local health center.  KFYR-TV

SPORTS NEWS

  • Team USA’s sled hockey team captured its fifth straight Paralympic gold after defeating Canada 6-2 at the Paralympic Winter Games. North Dakota natives, including head coach David Hoff & Minot’s Erick Woodbeck, played key roles in the historic win.  KFYR-TV
  • Our Redeemer’s won 73-39 over Bowman County at the Minot Municipal Auditorium on Saturday, March 14 in a Class B state qualifier, securing their third state tournament trip. The team — despite recent illness — played strong inside and will face Bishop Ryan on Thursday, March 19 at 2:45 p.m.  Minot Daily News
  • Jack Passa's floater with 2.8 seconds left earned Bishop Ryan a 55-53 win over Wilton-Wing at the Minot Municipal Auditorium on Saturday, March 14, sending the Lions to the state tournament. They will face Our Redeemer's in the quarterfinals on March 19 at 2:45 p.m. at the MSU Dome.  Minot Daily News
