- ➤ Strengthen ND in partnership with the Bush Foundation announced that applications for the 2026 Bush Prize will open on April 1 and close on April 30, and eligible North Dakota nonprofits, government entities, or fiscally sponsored projects can apply to receive a $250,000 award + support charitable projects. - ➤ Oil prices spiked amid tensions in Iran, but the Bakken stays steady with flat production and job numbers, according to the North Dakota Department of Mineral Resources. Workforce Center Manager Susan Granrud said the oilfield is in a wait-and-see mode + with no major hiring or layoffs planned. KFYR-TV

- ➤ Minot and area students will join 99 spellers from across North Dakota in the state spelling bee on Monday, March 23, at the Bismarck Event Center. Over 250 attendees are expected, and the champion will win a paid trip to Washington, D.C.— covering airfare and lodging. Minot Daily News

- ➤ Minot residents can nominate a Good Neighbor for an annual award by submitting an essay or video (required) on the City website until Sunday, March 22. Mayor Mark Jantzer will announce the honoree at City Hall during the State of the City event on Monday, April 6 at 4 p.m. Minot Daily News

- ➤ Anne Carlsen will close its Minot and Valley City locations on April 17, and families received an email on March 4 to seek alternative developmental and behavioral health care. KFYR-TV
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Four region champions were crowned on Thursday and advanced to the Class A boys basketball state tournament set for March 19—21 in Fargo. State qualifier games will be held Saturday in Minot and Fargo as teams try for a final berth. KFYR-TV
- ➤ Minot’s Rebel Athletics trains young athletes in gymnastics and competitive cheer, and its mini and youth teams earned a bid to compete at the Allstar World Championship in Orlando from April 16–19 + the program has sparked local passion as seen with cheerleader Clara Atkinson. KFYR-TV
- ➤ Minot and Davies advanced to the AA girls state championship after winning key district games, and the teams will compete soon for the state title. KFYR-TV
