- ➤ Minot Area Chamber EDC will hold its Annual Meeting on Monday, March 23 at Regency Event Center with keynote speaker Air Force Maj. Gen. Stacy Jo Huser (the first woman to command the 20th Air Force). Northern Sentry
- ➤ Hairball Haven Feline Rescue in Minot gives stray cats a new start by taking them in from the city pound and providing care for adoption. The nonprofit (led by Natalie Davy since 2018) relies on local volunteers and military community members to help reduce the stray cat population. Northern Sentry
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Minot Symphony Orchestra celebrates its 100th season with a free family-friendly book reading + signing of The Nodak Do-Re-Mi’s, where musician Tim Baumann reads and author Max Patzner signs books tomorrow at 10 a.m. at Main Street Books, 8 Main St. South. Northern Sentry
- ➤ The North Dakota Miss Amazing 2026 Amplify Event takes place Saturday, March 14, and Sunday, March 15 at Ann Nicole Nelson Hall on the Minot State University campus. The final show starts at 2 p.m. on Sunday — tickets cost $10 at the door. Minot Daily News

- ➤ Minot Public Schools enrollment for grades K-12 is open for the 2025-26 and 2026-27 school years; documents must be submitted by May 15 for the new Infinite Campus system as classes begin Aug. 19. Glenburn Schools registration opens May 1; families can call (701-362-7426) as Infinite Campus starts May 17. Northern Sentry
- ➤ Magic City Discovery Center opened its interactive Building Gallery on March 12 to let kids explore architecture and design through hands-on displays such as building giant foam arches (teaching balance and teamwork) in a lively setting that features familiar Minot structures. Northern Sentry
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ ND DEQ is proposing air pollution permits for construction at three facilities in Mountrail and Stark counties to meet air quality rules. The agency will accept public comments by email or mail until April 11. Minot Daily News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Minot International Airport was named North Dakota’s 2025 Commercial Service Airport of the Year for its community tours and disaster drills that boosted safety. New Town Municipal Airport won the General Aviation award after extending its runway and improving emergency access + securing local funding. Minot Daily News
- ➤ Tom Joyce became Minot’s City Manager in October and is now focused on strengthening the city's bond with its 12,000 military community. He champions local veterans and community events like the Commander’s Choice Awards to give back. Northern Sentry
- ➤ Minot AFB Legal Office now offers free legal help at 205 Missile Avenue for military members, dependents, retirees, and surviving family. Appointments cover civil issues such as will writing and divorce while walk-ins handle notarization and power of attorney (criminal matters are not assisted). Northern Sentry
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The Air Force Medical Group’s TOPA flight handled patient records, referrals, and travel reimbursements on March 12 to support service members in Minot & nearby areas in accessing necessary TRICARE benefits. The unit ensured HIPAA compliance and provided billing help to ease benefit questions. Northern Sentry

- ➤ A Minot girls' basketball team advanced to the Class AA semifinals after winning a key tournament match & will face a new opponent in an upcoming game at the local high school gym. KFYR-TV
- ➤ Minot United Esports captured its first state championship in Rocket League at Feb. 27 to Feb. 28 tournament in Grand Forks and finished second in Smash Bros. — the program will host an invitational tournament on March 20 at Minot State University. Northern Sentry
