- ➤ Uffda Foundation announced Fjord Folk Fest — a new celebration of Nordic heritage in Minot, scheduled for Friday and Saturday, Aug. 21 and 22. The festival will feature live entertainment, food, crafts and educational classes as vendor applications open early next week. Minot Daily News

- ➤ After board approval last Friday + Minot Public Schools named Matthew Ruhland as the new Athletics and Activities Director to oversee middle and high school sports as he replaces Mitch Lunde, who left for a similar role in Watford City. KFYR-TV
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ On Thursday, the Ward County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at a feedlot northeast of Surrey and removed 472 dead cattle from a facility holding up to 9,000 animals - the Department of Environmental Quality reported concern over possible water pollution at Buffalo Lodge Lake. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ North Dakota Health and Human Services reports two new measles cases—one in Traill County and one in Pembina County—for a total of 23 statewide this year. Officials recommend early and accelerated vaccination in Pembina County, where the outbreak prompts extra caution amid lower vaccination rates. Minot Daily News
- ➤ The North Dakota Department of Health and Human Services reported that respiratory illnesses remained moderate for the week ending Feb. 28 as influenza cases increased to 357, COVID-19 cases dropped to 209, and RSV cases rose to 116.
