CULTURE NEWS

  • Tickets for the North Dakota State Fair Grandstand Showpass will go on sale Monday, March 2 at 8 a.m., offering access to six nights of entertainment with performances by Jon Pardi, Jessie Murph, Niko Moon and Zach Top plus the MHA Indian Horse Relays.  KFYR-TV

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Trinity Health is offering its Emergency Medical Technician program to help students learn emergency care; classes run from July 20-Dec. 17 and applications close at 3 p.m. on Monday, Apr. 27. The course includes classroom lessons, lab work, and field clinicals held on Monday and Thursday evenings (4-8 p.m.) at the Riverside Education Center (1900 8th Ave. SE).  Minot Daily News
  • Over 870 firefighters are training at the 72nd North Dakota State Fire School in Minot, which began on Feb. 26 and continues until Mar. 1. The sessions span across the State Fair Center — offering more than 50 classes at various city locations.  Minot Daily News
  • Let’s Go Skiing marks 25 years of teaching kids to ski at Bottineau Winter Park — reaching roughly 50 students each year since it began in 2001. The program, supported by local donations, has helped more than 1,200 children learn a valuable winter skill for just $25 per lesson.  KFYR-TV

HEALTH NEWS

  • North Dakota health officials reported that influenza and COVID-19 activity were moderate while RSV remained low for the week ending Feb. 21. Flu and COVID-19 cases declined statewide, yet RSV cases and test positivity showed a +slight rise+.  Minot Daily News
  • Vitalant has scheduled several blood drives in March (including one in Minot on March 4 at Marketplace Foods) to collect blood type O donations, offering donors a chance to win $10,000.  Minot Daily News
