- ➤ Chili Bowl X, the 10th annual chili cook-off fundraiser benefiting Independence, Inc., is set for Thursday, Mar. 5 at 5 p.m. at The Grand Oasis Hotel in Minot, where local restaurants compete and guests enjoy unlimited chili tastings, live music, and auctions to support disability programs. - ➤ The Minot Park District says Oak Park trails are groomed for snowshoeing as recent snowfall improved conditions. Rent snowshoes at the district’s main office to use one of two loop options that also support ski shoes and HOK skis. KFYR-TV
- ➤ Over the weekend, the Rock Lake Boosters held the 15th annual coyote hunt, auction and community meal that raised about $30,000 to support keeping the old school+turned community center open as more than 70 teams competed and local residents joined the effort in Rock Lake. KFYR-TV

- ➤ Registrations for Around the Table: Nourishing Families, a free six-week online nutrition course, are open. Classes run Thursdays from March 19 to April 30 (no class April 9) at noon to 1 p.m., and attendees receive kitchen tools and a cookbook if they attend every session; register by March 5. - ➤ Firefighters from Burlington Rural Fire Department joined MHA Nation's 10th annual Ice Warrior Plunge on Monday, Feb. 23, where 81 jumpers helped raise over $60K for cancer research + pledges continued coming in as of Tuesday afternoon. Minot Daily News
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Berthold advanced to the Region 3 semifinals after defeating Divide County 72-63 on Feb. 23 at Minot Municipal Auditorium; the Bombers were scheduled to face Kenmare-Bowbells on Feb. 24 to build on their win. Minot Daily News
- ➤ On Monday, Feb. 23, quarterfinals at the MSU Dome advanced four teams: South Prairie-Max Royals, Bottineau High Stars, Turtle Mountain Community Braves and Rugby Panthers. Semifinals on Tuesday, Feb. 24 saw the Royals face the Stars at 5:30 p.m. while the Panthers met the Braves 20 minutes later. Minot Daily News
