- ➤ ABRA Minot will host Cruisin’ for a Cause, a car show benefiting Easterseals Goodwill of North Dakota, on Saturday, May 30, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 629 20th Ave. SE; community members can join to view vehicles, enjoy food, and support local disability services (registration is $20). - ➤ Minot Park District crews have groomed snowshoe trails in Oak Park featuring two loops—one 1 mile long and another half mile—as current snow lets visitors enjoy outdoor activity before warm weather arrives. Snowshoe rentals are available at the district’s main office at 420 3rd Ave SW. Minot Daily News
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Oil and gas production in North Dakota dropped 6% in December because of subzero temperatures and low oil prices. The state produced 1.12 million barrels/day + 3.3 billion cubic feet of gas, and officials warn that January may face similar challenges. KFYR-TV
- ➤ North Dakota’s oil production fell as a cold snap reduced outputs from 1.198 million barrels per day in November to 1.121 million in December—natural gas production also dropped from 106.4 to 103.5 billion cubic feet. The Department of Mineral Resources noted that 26 rigs are drilling today. Minot Daily News

- ➤ NDSU Extension recently hosted a calving school event for 52 4-H youth from six counties at the North Central Research Extension Center south of Minot. The training taught animal care by assisting a model Hereford cow give birth + practicing injections, record keeping and calving kit assembly. Minot Daily News

- ➤ Minot United girls hockey team earned its final state tournament berth with a five to four overtime win over Jamestown on Jan. 21; star Reese Meagher (+ one goal) scored the winning play, and they will face top-seeded Fargo North/South on Feb. 26 at 11 a.m. at Farmers Union Insurance Center Rink. - ➤ The Minot State men’s basketball team lost 76 to 62 to Northern State on Senior Night at the MSU Dome on Saturday, Feb. 21 and will play Minnesota Duluth at 6 p.m. in the NSIC Tournament first round. Minot Daily News
- ➤ Minot State women's hockey lost 5-1 to top-ranked Liberty in the WMCH semifinals at Sidner Ice Arena (in Fremont, Neb.) on Feb. 20. The Beavers will travel to Jamestown for a weekend series on Feb. 27. Minot Daily News
- ➤ Minot State’s men’s hockey team claimed its second straight MCH Tournament championship with a 3-1 win over U-Mary on Feb. 22 at Albert Lea City Arena, and the victory secures an automatic bid to the ACHA National Tournament starting March 12. Minot Daily News
- ➤ The Minot State women’s basketball team fell to Northern State 72-63 on Senior Night at MSU Dome on Saturday, Feb. 21. Izzy Moore scored 37 points and the Beavers honored four seniors ahead of their NSIC Tournament game against Winona State on Wed, Feb. 25 at 6 p.m. Minot Daily News
- ➤ Minot United repeated its success with a 2-0 win over Bismarck Legacy at the VFW Sports Center on Saturday, Feb. 21 (earning the top seed for the state tournament on Thursday, Feb. 26). The rebranded team from the Magic City celebrated its 19th title in program history. Minot Daily News
