🎓 Education
Minot North Culinary Arts students run a restaurant for four weeks as they plan menus, take orders, cook meals and serve fellow students, teachers and staff.
Teacher Beverly Cavite leads the class while ensuring all are food safety certified.
The North Dakota Association of Secondary School Principals announced the 2026 Academic All-State team, naming several students from Minot and nearby schools based on grades, test scores, and community involvement.
Minot High School students and peers received honors after competing in Class AA, A, and B divisions.
🏛️ Government
Minot City Council approved temporary agreements with Animal Empowerment League (for dog and exotic animal pound services) and Hairball Haven (to care for stray cats), leasing a county building for six months.
The move aims to decrease stray animal numbers as staff work on long-term solutions.
🏥 Health
MHA Nation will host its 10th Annual Ice Warrior Plunge Monday, Feb.
23 in New Town. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. at the MHA Energy building (305 4th St.) and the plunge into frozen Lake Sakakawea starts at 11:30 a.m. to raise funds for cancer research.
