- ➤ Teddy Roosevelt (Joe Wiegand of the Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation) will be a special guest at Roosevelt Park Zoo on Presidents’ Day, Monday, Feb. 16. Visitors can meet him at the Children's Discovery Barn at 2 p.m. while the zoo operates from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Minot Daily News
- ➤ Citizens Alley is keeping its ice skating rink open during warm days by using its underground refrigeration system to maintain the ice. Local Motives offers skate rentals + ice bumper cars this weekend in Minot. KFYR-TV
- ➤ Rod Wilson of The Northern Sentry is recovering after a 10-hour back surgery in Minneapolis and received support from Minot Air Force Base. He announced the Brass Band of Minot concert on Sunday, Feb. 15 at 4 p.m. at Ann Nicole Nelson Hall on campus. Northern Sentry

- ➤ Born Mar. 17, 1945 in Hartland, Jane McCullough grew up as a farm-raised child and earned a degree from Minot State College before joining the Army. She served at the 311th Evacuation Hospital and overseas in Egypt before retiring in 2004. Northern Sentry
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Minot Air Force Base generated $956.7 million in economic impact in fiscal year 2025 — the Economic Impact Analysis Report stated during a meeting at the Grand Oasis Hotel on Feb. 5. - ➤ Bishop Ryan Catholic School released its 2nd Quarter Honor Roll today, listing students from sixth to senior levels who earned a minimum 3.000 GPA. The roll recognizes academic excellence in High Honors, High Honors and Honors categories. Northern Sentry
- ➤ Minot North High School released its Semester 1 Honor Roll list today, recognizing top-performing students in Grades 9 through 12. The list details various honors levels (Highest Honors, High Honors, and Honors) based on academic achievements announced by the school. Northern Sentry
- ➤ On Feb. 4 at Minot State University, area schools held the annual Ward County MATHCOUNTS competition for grades 6 to 8. The contest featured team and individual rounds in math topics to select the top eight students who will represent Ward County at the state contest in Bismarck. Minot Daily News

- ➤ Trinity Health in Minot suspended its Home Health and Outpatient Hospice services on Thursday—after reviewing current operations and planning to transition patients to trusted community providers. - ➤ Minot North student athletes showed grit this week in basketball & hockey contests, with Brynn Francis, Kinzy Welstad, Jayce Wendt and TJ Hjelmstad earning awards in respective matchups. Minot United Hockey earned an 8 to 1 win as teams prepare for upcoming home games. Northern Sentry
