- ➤ Amber Grause, former Miss Norsk Høstfest 2007, has launched an online campaign for a scaled-back event celebrating Nordic heritage after news of the festival ending — the effort aims to preserve Scandinavian traditions in the community. KFYR-TV
- ➤ On Jan. 30, Minot AFB held its Karaoke Battle Finale at Rockers Bar + Grill where teams from the 5th Bomb Wing and 91st Missile Wing vied for prizes as TSgt Tessie Odhiambo won $500; friendly competition was judged by Chief Sharp and Chief Thomas. Northern Sentry

- ➤ Airmen from the 91st Security Forces Group completed the Cold Weather Defender Course on Jan. 20 at Minot Air Force Base. SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Minot United Cheer finished the NDADD State Competition with high marks—claiming a state title in Class A Jazz and placing in the top three in all routines. - ➤ Minot North athletes shined in sports as the boys basketball team rallied for a 72 – 69 Military Appreciation Night win, the girls secured an 84 – 70 victory led by Kinzy Welstad, and Gavin Diede helped the swimming team by state-qualifying at a recent meet. Northern Sentry
- ➤ Minot United defenseman Jayce Lemon was named SERVPRO Athlete of the Week for his solid play—helping the team tie for the best goals against record in the region. The team travels to Mandan on Friday and hosts Bismarck High on Tuesday ahead of the west region tournament Feb. 19-21. KFYR-TV
- ➤ On February 5, 2026, Minot North High School's cheer team won several state titles at the North Dakota State Cheer Competition and earned a team scholar award. Individual honors went to Victoria Cauldreon, Ariana, and Payton & two stunt groups placed in top positions. Northern Sentry
- ➤ The Erik Ramstad Middle School cheer team placed 2nd at the North Dakota State Cheerleading Championship held at the Bismarck Event Center on Jan. 31. The 7th and 8th (grade) team quickly adapted to last-minute changes when several members could not attend, leaving a strong impression as the winter cheer season winds down. Northern Sentry
