- ➤ House of Skatin’ will host its first pop-up roller-skating rink on Feb. 13 and 14 at the North Dakota State Fair Center (admission is $8 and skate rentals are $5). KFYR-TV
- ➤ Nearly 30 Burke Central FBLA students donated 35 jerseys, 75 sets of school supplies, and food buckets for schools in the Philippines in December. A local Filipino business owner contributed $1,000 to fund shipping and help areas that were hit by a recent typhoon. KFYR-TV

- ➤ Minot AFB parents breathed a sigh of relief after authorities detained an individual at the base gate Monday following social media posts threatening schools (the suspect carried no weapons) and stepped up security measures for safety. KFYR-TV
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Amber Grause, former Miss Norsk Hostfest, is raising $25,000 through GoFundMe to preserve the festival’s traditions after the board ended the event. She is coordinating with local Scandinavian groups and may restart a smaller celebration for fall. Minot Daily News
- ➤ Minot Symphony Orchestra will present Carnegie Hall’s “Link Up: The Orchestra Swings” on Saturday, Feb. 7 at 3 p.m. in Ann Nicole Nelson Hall at Minot State University. The program, part of its 100th season, will feature a 2 p.m. musicology talk plus a Side+by+Side String Festival with musicians. Minot Daily News
