COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Residents in Henry Towers have been without running water since last week due to a water main replacement, and staff provided a water tank for drinking and cooking along with porta-potties for restroom needs—repairs were expected to be completed Monday night or Tuesday.  KFYR-TV
  • Center-Stanton second graders celebrated Monday as classmate Love Helfenstein was officially adopted in a classroom project featuring handmade certificates and creative stuffed animal adoptions — a milestone that taught lessons in friendship and acceptance.  KFYR-TV
  • More than 1,000 exhibitors set up at the ND State Fair Center for the 55th KMOT Ag Expo, which starts today and runs through Friday. The free event operates 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wed and Thurs and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday—showcasing the latest farm technology.  KFYR-TV

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A welding shop in Surrey burned Saturday in below-zero temps as 50 firefighters responded while the owner, Joe Duchsherer, said neighbor support helped keep operations running from his undamaged main building — officials say the cause is under investigation.  KFYR-TV
  • Owners of Lund Construction in Crosby said a fire on Jan. 25 damaged their shop, which housed trucks and 500 gallons of diesel; the Crosby Fire Department fought the blaze in -20-degree weather and community volunteers helped while no one was hurt.  Minot Daily News

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Heilman Properties received a $150,000 loan to complete its new childcare facility in Minot after the North Dakota Department of Commerce approved funding on Jan. 27 & three companies were awarded a total of $452,500 from NDDF during Q4 2025.  Minot Daily News
  • The founder of Continental Resources plans to stop drilling new wells in North Dakota through March as lower oil prices lead to a shift toward a shale play in Argentina. State officials note that existing wells will remain active while budget planners prepare for tighter revenue in oil-dependent areas.  KFYR-TV

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Thirteen local leaders were named Honorary Commanders today to partner with Air Force leadership at the base — a program begun in the 1980s that gives them a chance to learn about base missions and join events.  KFYR-TV
  • North Dakota airports recorded over a million boardings in 2025—a 6% rise that followed steep pandemic losses—as recovery continued with growing demand from residents, tourists, and businesses. Executive Director Kyle Wanner said the data signals strong travel returning.  KFYR-TV
