- ➤ The Minot Area Chamber EDC Women Connect team will host Intentional Collisions, a networking event with more than 40 regional mentors, on Tuesday, Jan. 27 from 3 to 5:30 p.m. at the Grand Oasis Hotel in Minot. Minot Daily News
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The North Dakota State Fair announced that Niko Moon will perform on Wednesday, July 22 as part of the 2026 Grandstand Showpass featuring Jessie Murph + Zach Top. The fair will also host the MHA Indian Horse Relay Championships on Monday, July 20 and Tuesday, July 21. KFYR-TV
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Dakota College at Bottineau recognized Dean’s List and Honor Roll students in Fall 2025 (including several from Minot) based on high GPAs. The announcement listed the criteria and highlighted names from local and surrounding communities. Minot Daily News
- ➤ Nedrose Public School released its first semester honors list (recognizing top students in Grades 6 to 12 with Highest, High, and Honors awards). The report highlights the school’s focus on academic excellence. Minot Daily News
- ➤ The Minot Public School district reported a slight drop to 7,405 students at its Jan. 8 board meeting (down about 170 from last year). Superintendent Faul said 10 new families enrolled and that quarterly reviews will continue since funding is tied to enrollment. Minot Daily News
- ➤ Kenmare High School seniors received hands-on CDL training at the Minot Area Workforce Academy on Friday, Jan. 9. Instructor Adam Duzick led simulator and truck sessions to build essential skills for work on farms and as electrical linemen. Minot Daily News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Minot community members are invited to share input on the transit system at two public sessions held in the City Council Chambers at City Hall. The meetings will be on Jan 20 (11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.) and Jan 21 (4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.) to gather project feedback. KFYR-TV
- ➤ PETA submitted an offer to display a cow ad on the northeast Third Street Bridge to help fund repairs while city officials work on ad rules, and they will decide if the ad fits public standards after reviewing existing ordinances. Minot Daily News
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ North Dakota Health and Human Services urges residents to get vaccinated and follow preventive measures amid 5,166 flu cases including 1,481 in children, several hospitalizations, and five deaths (two in children, three in adults). The agency advises early testing and antiviral treatment for high-risk individuals. Minot Daily News
